  Alternative to free directory assistance (Google 411) November 11

  to those of you who've never used google's free telephone directory assistance (1-800-goog-411) you may as well forget it.

  that service ends november 11 but another one had already been waiting in the wings.

  for me, google's free directory assistance (1-800-goog-411) had been a great ride especially when on a road trip.

  i, along with many others, received our latest freeminds email.

  i was shocked at the following underlined statement.. the second thing they are emphasizing is that those who claim to be of the "anointed" (now that they have admitted the number may not be limited to 144,000) not only have no say into what goes into the watchtower magazine, and have no special knowledge or place in jehovah's organization, so don't look to them for answers.

  the governing body is the faithful and discreet slave as far as the jws are to be concerned.

  fact: jw's say that taking a blood transfusion is wrong.fact: jw's now say that taking only a fraction of whole blood is a conscience matter.fact: jw's say that taking a blood transfusion is akin to eating blood.

  it follows that taking only a fraction of blood is still akin to eating blood fractions.fact: jw's say that eating any part of another human is considered cannibalism.

  it follows that eating another person's arm, albeit only a fraction of a person, is still cannibalism.conclusion: if jw's, by their definition, consider eating the arm (a body fraction) of another person as cannibalism, then eating a fraction of blood must also make the jw guilty of cannibalism.. len miller.

  Med charges inflated by design to maximize Medicare payments?

  i live near a local small camden, arkansas community.

  not long ago a local weekly published some advice from area physician dr. nunnally, recently retired.

  he was directing that advice to those of us on medicare who get these exorbitant bills -- even after medicare and our supplemental insurance gets done paying.

  i know, it's been years since i've been on the outside looking in.

  years since i've actually paged through my latest issue of awake!, poring over the "watching the world" section, taking the pulse on how bad the world is getting.

  that way, when i got to my next door in field service i could give the poor uninformed householder a good heads-up, full of the latest facts on how close the end really is.. this morning i checked out my wt cd library and was not disappointed.

  Birthdays Okay -- if done by Fractions

  i have 2 sons who live close to each other.

  thankfully, they are emotionally close despite the fact that the oldest never was baptized and therefore not bound by wt standards.. the youngest, the jw, had a birthday on the 1st of the month.

  i wished him a happy one -- but, of course, only in my mind knowing that he would dismiss such a wish if he even talked with me on the phone.
